![]() Since the plex config directory consists of many small files, I would recommend creating an archive from the files with like 7z, WinZip or WinRar and copy that over, when you copy the files as is, it will take a long time. The most you would have to do is make sure that the folder structure is the same for the configuration between the appdata folder and what you copy over and possibly fix permission/ownership on those files. I have done this multiple times already from windows to Ubuntu and then from ubuntu to Unraid every time following the guide above. That means that you wouldn't put the plex config directory from your Windows PC on the cache drive but rather copy the contents to the appdata directory that the container created in the same constellation.Īs also described in the article above, you would then only need to change the drives or share that your Plex server libraries are watching. In Unraid you wouldn't need to worry about it being "on an SSD" because the docker container would require you to have the Plex server configuration in the AppData share which would be on the Cache pool by default.
